Music Weaves the Web, photo by Opal (Charlie Seltzer)

[I met William in] 1986 at the faerie household he shared with Mica Kindman in SF.

In December 1995, my partner, Tom Mapp, and I were at a Billy gathering at Heartwood Retreat Center in Humboldt County, in northern CA. Tom was very close to dying of AIDS. I spoke in a heart circle about our relationship, his dying, my fears, the strength I took from our community, and my deep, life long love of music. At some point, I must have said "Music weaves the web," for a month later, William presented me with those words, calligraphed around the image of a web. Today, the art work hangs right above my piano in my music studio. I see it every day and think of William.
