Groundswell Project

In William’s first-ever solo ritual in 2010, he wrote, “My dream is to be a generous-hearted and beloved elder in a tribe of queer-spirit folk committed to reciprocal mirroring and consciousness-raising.”

That vision led to his living for over a year near Medford Oregon with a group of like-minded friends exploring intentional community. Then in 2013 in San Francisco, meetings with a group of faeries led to his purchase in 2014 of a former children’s camp in rural Mendocino County, California. Named Groundswell, it became a retreat center and sanctuary for the SF Bay Area queer community and more. After seven tumultuous years full of learning, the collective running the retreat center dissolved in 2021.
